La Virgen de Guadalupe

Virgen La Virgen de Guadalupe is one of the world's most most beloved religious and cultural icons. This image of a maiden cloaked in stars and standing on a crescent moon has been revered, reinterpreted and reinvented over its 400-year history.  Throughout the Americas, people join together for the festivities of La Virgen Our Lady of Guadalupe on December 12 which include altars and candles to her and saying the Rosary. And so we, too, join in these festivities.

Come to an art exhibit honoring the Virgen de Guadalupe featuring the Virgen in various media including paintings, prints, wood carvings & boxes, ceramics, photos, wearable art. Participate in the blessing of the Virgen de Guadalupe altar including candle-lighting & prayer. Join in the recitation of the Rosary. Rosaries will be available for purchase. Following the Altar Blessing will be an art reception & sale featuring Virgen-themed gifts for the holidays & beyond..Refreshments will be served.

Featuring the following artists: Monica Hernandez, Heather Hoggan, Leo Limon, Karen Lockert, Juan Olazaba, Rachel Rifat, Eduardo Rocha Soto, RuthAnne Tarletz & Alberto Varela.

La Virgen de Guadelupe. Patron saint of the Dioceses of Sacramento, Orange, and San Bernandino (as well as The Americas).

How thrilling to be able to see modern artists' depiction of Nuestra Senora on her feast day ! I wish I were in LA today.
